Sotheby's appoints Fru Tholstrup to lead new Sǀ2 gallery in London's Mayfair
Fru Tholstrup has been named the director of Sotheby's newly established Sǀ2 gallery located in Mayfair, London, a space specifically designed by David Kohn architects. The gallery is set to launch on 10th October with "Joseph Beuys Revealed," a selling exhibition showcasing rare early pieces by Joseph Beuys from the 1940s through the 1960s, which includes 12 works on paper and a bronze sculpture edition titled Bett. Tholstrup, who has over ten years of experience as the director of the former Haunch of Venison gallery, also spent eight years at Sotheby's. The focus of the gallery will be on private selling exhibitions dedicated to contemporary art.
