SOS Oceano campaign uses Brazilian flag pigments in screen-printed ecological illustrations

other · 2026-04-20

Droga5 São Paulo commissioned an environmental awareness campaign for SOS Oceano exploring the interdependence of terrestrial and marine ecosystems. Six detailed illustrations were created through a collaborative process involving multiple specialized studios. Joules & Joules Laboratory developed natural pigments while Estúdio Elástico handled screen printing production. The visual approach drew inspiration from naturalist illustrations, aiming for precision and sensitivity in depicting integrated ecological compositions. Artisanal inks derived from Brazilian flag colors were applied in layered screen prints to achieve depth and transparency effects. The campaign's central message emphasizes that without healthy oceans ("no blue"), terrestrial life ("no green") cannot thrive. The project transformed initial concepts into physical artworks through meticulous handcrafted processes. Each piece visualizes the essential connections between different environmental systems.
