Sophie Duplaix's monograph on Gina Pane published by Actes Sud

Actes Sud has published a monograph on Gina Pane by Sophie Duplaix, curator at Centre Pompidou. The book challenges reductive views of the Italian-French artist, known for body performances in the 1970s, by examining her full career from 1960s works to 1980s scores. Organized in four chronological and thematic chapters, it draws on interpretations by Sophie Delpeux and Anne Tronche, and references critic François Pluchart. Duplaix emphasizes the spiritual dimension of Pane's work, calling it "a message of love." The publication follows Duplaix's 2005 exhibition "Terre-Artiste-Ciel" at Centre Pompidou in Paris; the Italian edition served as the catalog for a 2012 spring exhibition at Mart in Trento and Rovereto, Italy.
