Soonja Han's Multifaceted Art at Galleria Il Ponte in Florence

Soonja Han, a Korean-born artist (Seoul, 1952) with French training, presents around thirty works including paintings, sculptures, and drawings at Galleria Il Ponte in Florence. The circle serves as the foundational principle of her multifaceted investigation, blending Eastern and Western influences. Her work operates on two levels: one sentimental and ethical, the other expressive, focusing on geometric finesse and formal contrasts. The ancestral history of Florence, a cradle of aesthetic refinement, is filtered through decorative rosettes and chromatic overlays, revealing a metaphysical balance where real space yields to an almost mystical inner dimension. The exhibition is on view in July 2017.
