Sony World Photography Awards 2026 Finalists Reveal Diverse Landscape Approaches

The 2026 Sony World Photography Awards has announced 30 finalists and 65 shortlisted entries from over 430,000 submissions across 200 countries and territories. Liam Man's work documents the rapid retreat of Chile's Leones Glacier, where collapsing valley walls accelerate melting. Dafna Talmor creates abstracted landscapes through hand-printed, collaged color negatives with undisclosed locations. David Baxter III captures supercells and extreme weather in Tornado Alley across the central United States. Mathieu Moindron photographs nocturnal scenes of service districts in Sendai, Japan, using only available light after workers depart. Cristopher Rogel Blanquet Chavez examines the Mexico-USA border wall as a silhouette under night skies. An exhibition of the awards will be held at Somerset House in London from 17 April to 4 May 2026. The Photographer of the Year will be announced on 16 April 2026.
