Sony's robotic dog Aibo returns with AI capabilities
Sony has announced the return of Aibo, its iconic robotic dog, with a completely redesigned version set for release on January 11, 2018, in Japan. Pre-orders are already available. Originally launched in the late 1990s and discontinued in 2006 due to high costs, Aibo was beloved worldwide, purchased by thousands of families, schools, and universities, and featured in numerous films and TV shows. The new Aibo responds to voice commands, expresses emotions through facial and body movements, wags its tail, and is equipped with an artificial intelligence system that learns from interactions, developing a unique personality over time.
