Sony a7 V Tops Map Camera Sales for Fifth Consecutive Month

The Sony a7 V has led Map Camera's new digital camera sales chart for five straight months since its December debut, with a 'significant' gap over the second-place Fujifilm X100VI in April. Map Camera reports that while most buyers are upgrading from earlier a7 models, a notable number are switching from other brands, attracted by the camera's features and the extensive E-mount lens ecosystem. The a7 V's consistent supply has also been an advantage, as competitors like the Fujifilm X100VI and Ricoh GR IV are frequently sold out. The DJI Osmo Pocket 4, announced in mid-April, debuted on the chart but is not available in the U.S. pending legal authorization. Map Camera notes that rumors of a higher-end dual-camera version may have limited its placement.
