Sonimage returns to Bisceglie for sixth edition with residencies and performances
The sixth edition of Sonimage, organized by Cineclub Canudo, takes place in Bisceglie from September 19 to 22. The program includes an opening of a photography exhibition by Alessandro De Leone at Palazzo Tupputi on September 19, followed by a screening cycle titled Vita rumorosa and a talk with director Ilaria Pezone. From September 20 to 22, six performances in Piazza in Pendio san Matteo feature young musicians, composers, and filmmakers under 35, including Pommodore collective, Valeria Sturba, Alessandro Vangi, Luca Maria Baldini, and Caterina Palazzi. A talk on September 21 with Christian Caliandro, Bruno Di Marino, Antonello Matarazzo, Pio Monti, and Gabriele Perretta explores connections between music, video, and visual arts. The project involves students from academies in Venice, Milan (Brera), Urbino, and Bari, and conservatories in Alessandria, Trieste, and Monopoli, who participate in residencies. Approximately 30 students exhibit 30 audiovisual works across 15 locations in the old town. The event also includes 10 workshops and seminars on sound-image relationships for about 80 participants, and the production of three short films. Sonimage is supported by MIBAC and SIAE under the "Sillumina" program and the Tourism and Cultural Industry Department of the Puglia Region. Artistic director Antonio Musci emphasizes the goal of bringing together artists from different backgrounds to create eight new intermedial performances.
