Sonia Delaunay Works from Jacques Damase Collection Achieve €105,000 at Bonhams Paris Auction

A dedicated sale of limited editions at Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris on November 13, 2025, saw 31 works by Sonia Delaunay from the estate of art book publisher Jacques Damase achieve a white-glove sale result of €105,000. The auction's total revenue reached €782,618, with 75% of lots sold. A wool tapestry titled 'Jeux d'enfants' from around 1970 sold for €48,640, quadrupling its estimate. The 1973 lithograph 'Rythme coloré' fetched €6,400. The collection highlighted the historical collaboration between Delaunay and Damase, who was also a writer and gallerist. The 1969 publication 'Robes Poèmes,' featuring poems by Guillaume Apollinaire and Blaise Cendrars with a preface and layout by Damase, sold for €2,176. Jacques Damase, who died in 2014, was a noted publisher and collector. The sale focused on his personal collection of works by the pioneering abstract artist Sonia Delaunay, who died in 1979.
