Sonia Chiambretto Honored at Festival Aux Quatre Coins du Mot
The ninth edition of the Festival Aux Quatre Coins du Mot, held in La Charité-sur-Loire over the Ascension weekend, centers on the theme 'Paroles données' and marks the 80th anniversary of Jacques Prévert's collection 'Paroles'. Founded in 2005, the festival moved in 2014 to the 11th-century priory of the cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In 2019 it expanded under director Philippe Lemoine, emphasizing sharing and hospitality. Guest of honor Sonia Chiambretto, poet and author of 'Peines mineures' and 'Supervision' (published by Éditions de l'Arche), explores forgotten voices. 'Peines mineures', a commissioned text staged by Marcial Di Fonzo Bo with Inés Quaireau, delves into archives of girls raised by a religious congregation founded in 1835, blending documentary and poetic writing. Chiambretto works 'with sound, by ear' and 'organizes silences', drawing on archives from the 1950s to 1970s. The festival also features the musical group Les Fouteurs de Joie, a collective of five artists performing their song 'Tardivement'.
