Sonia Andresano's 'Trasporto Eccezionale' video art featured in KaOZ residency

artist · 2026-04-27

Sonia Andresano (born 1983 in Salerno, lives in Rome and Milan) is among the artists selected by curators Lori Adragna and Andrea Kantos for the KaOZ Residencies Program in Palermo. The residency cycle, a collaboration between Bridge Art, Dimora OZ, and KaOZ, has previously hosted Gino D’Ugo, Emanuela Barilozzi Caruso, and Riccardo D’Avola-Corte. Future projects with Sandro Mele and Laura Cionci have been postponed due to the coronavirus emergency. Andresano's video, 'Trasporto Eccezionale,' depicts a small paper truck on rocks, shaken by wind and facing the Isola delle Femmine, a suggestive and inaccessible island recently featured in another art project. Curator Lori Adragna describes the tension between the paper vehicle and the island as a vertical framing that captures a horizontal, rare, and powerful phenomenon: the specular clash of two currents. The paper-model truck is moved by the coastal wind, but its external motion becomes an inner nerve, an intimate vibration echoed by sounds and music typical of research across radio frequency channels.
