Soma Surovi Jannat wins 5th Samdani Art Award with installation-focused practice
Soma Surovi Jannat has secured the 5th Samdani Art Award, earning a residency at London's Delfina Foundation. Her practice transforms illustration, drawing, and painting into immersive installations. An international jury selected Jannat from twelve Bangladeshi artists aged 22 to 40. Jury members included artists Adrián Villar Rojas and Julie Mehretu, alongside Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev of Castello di Rivoli and Eungie Joo from SF MoMA. Aaron Cezar, director of Delfina Foundation, chaired the selection panel. The award is jointly organized by Goethe Institut Bangladesh and the UK-based Delfina Foundation.
