SOLIDIFIED: Matter Finds Its Voice at Milan Design Week

During Milan Design Week, the collaborative exhibition SOLIDIFIED was installed at Viafarini, presenting 27 creative entities exploring material transformation. Curated under the premise 'from matter to form,' the show featured sculptural pieces, experimental furniture, lighting, and hybrid objects blurring art and function. Participants ranged from contemporary craft to experimental fabrication, including structural explorations, luminary design, and collectible design. The exhibition highlighted a Dutch and Nordic sensibility—formal clarity, structural intelligence, material poetry—while maintaining international openness. Materials such as wood, metal, textiles, composites, glass, and new surfaces were treated as living territories of research. SOLIDIFIED emphasized process over finished object, positioning matter as protagonist rather than passive resource. The exhibition was part of Glocal Design Magazine's 88th edition, which addresses sustainability as a system redefining contemporary architectural practice through projects, interviews, and key voices on climate, territory, materials, and social responsibility.
