Solidarity Photography Gallery Supports Brazilian Photographers During Pandemic
Mônica Zarattini initiated the 20 X 20 Solidarity Photography Gallery project to assist fellow photographers impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. She presented this idea to Fotógrafos pela Democracia, with ARFOC-SP later joining to handle financial aspects. The initiative provides three ways to participate: donating all proceeds from photo sales, donating half while retaining 40%, or donating half, keeping 40%, and applying for financial support. Featured on Instagram are selected works by Zarattini and Toni Pires, showcasing over 230 entries from photographers such as Nair Benedicto and Cristiano Mascaro. Each image is listed at R$ 220.00. In its inaugural month, 94 photos sold, generating R$ 20,680.00 for 16 photographers. Participation is open from May 20 to October 20, 2020.
