Solea6B: Private Apartment Gallery Opens in Milan's Porta Nuova
In Milan's Porta Nuova district, Roberto Riccio, former Group Managing Director and now Honorary President of Galileo Global Education's Italian branch, has transformed his sixth-floor apartment in Torre Solea into Solea6B, a private exhibition space. Designed by Arquitectonica of Miami, the apartment's interior pays homage to Milanese design and Japanese minimalism. Riccio, who oversaw NABA and Istituto Marangoni, aims to support artists who struggle to find institutional channels, covering setup, vernissage, and communication costs. The inaugural show, 'Lune,' features works by Elisabetta Trombello (Como, 1969) displayed throughout the loft. Her pieces layer fabrics, gauzes, lace, linen, and macramé with pigments, gold leaf, copper leaf, crystals, and stones on circular supports, blending painting and sculpture. Solea6B will host bimonthly exhibitions alternating with residencies for national and international artists, inspired by Davide Groppi's Moon lamp visible from the gardens below. The space is open by appointment until December 2021.
