Soho House Art Prize: call for artists, winner to exhibit at Miami Beach during Art Basel

The first edition of the Soho House Art Prize has been announced, with the winner commissioned to create a site-specific installation at Soho House Miami Beach during Art Basel Miami. The prize is supported by Bombay Sapphire gin. The jury includes Tate director Maria Balshaw, artist Hebru Brantley, and Soho House head of collections Kate Bryan. The winner will be announced on August 10, 2020, and will receive travel and accommodation expenses, a membership to all Soho House locations, and the installation will enter the Soho House collection, which comprises over 5,000 works displayed in clubs worldwide. Artists in the collection include Tracey Emin, Yinka Shonibare, Tacita Dean, George Condo, and Jenny Holzer. Applications close on July 26, 2020. Soho House founder Nick Jones opened the first club in London's Greek Street in 1995. The club now has locations in Barcelona, Istanbul, New York, Chicago, Miami, Toronto, Berlin, and Los Angeles. Italian artist Gabriele de Santis, whose works are in the collection, praised the club's investment in artists and noted upcoming openings in Rome and Milan.
