Sofiane Pamart's 'Movie' Album Design Blurs Music and Art Book

French pianist Sofiane Pamart, in collaboration with designer Adrien Beaujeant and creative director Guillaume Héritier, has released a visually immersive edition of his album 'Movie.' The project transforms traditional sheet music into an art book, extending a cohesive visual series across Pamart's releases. The design draws on cinema history—vintage screenplay covers, classic title sequences, and Hollywood iconography—without referencing any specific film. A distinctive pink hue, inspired by an old movie script cover, and a typeface evoking classic film titles and signage from the Château Marmont anchor the identity. Beaujeant's illustrations of theatre curtains, sheet music, film props, masks, and cinematic symbols weave hidden narratives throughout. Childhood photographs of Pamart, including one taken by his father that serves as the album cover, evoke soft nostalgia. The score book aims to make music accessible to pianists of varying skill levels while functioning as an artist's book and design object.
