Soco Estudio Turns Narrow Gran Canaria Plot into Flexible Open-Plan Home

Soco Estudio has finalized Casa Iriarte in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, ingeniously utilizing a narrow site to create a versatile home. The layout consists of a series of equally sized rooms that connect either to the street or a central patio, which helps manage both climate and space. Central staircases and service zones facilitate the inclusion of spacious rooms within the limited footprint. Rather than adhering to traditional compartmentalization, the design embraces open, bright areas. A shifted patio provides both visual relief and airflow. Yellow highlights accentuate important features, and movable furniture increases flexibility. Constructed from reinforced concrete and Canarian picón block, the modular facades allow for future modifications.
