Social Wall at Museo Bagatti Valsecchi Captures Visitors with Treasured Objects
During Milan Photo Week on June 9, 2018, the Museo Bagatti Valsecchi in Milan hosted a participatory photo shoot. Students from the Biennio Specialistico di Fotografia at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, guided by Paola Di Bello, photographed consenting visitors holding a personal or special object—a memento of happy or important moments. The portraits will form a large Social Wall on the museum's website. The initiative draws inspiration from Orhan Pamuk's novel 'The Museum of Innocence' and the real museum of the same name he founded in Istanbul. Some relics from Pamuk's museum were on display at Bagatti Valsecchi for the exhibition 'Amore, musei, ispirazione. Il Museo dell’innocenza di Orhan Pamuk a Milano,' which explores the museum's deep connection with the novel's protagonist, Kemal, who lists it among his five favorite places in the world.
