Snøhetta and sbp's Sentry Bridge Cantilevers Over Watkins Glen Gorge
Construction is underway for a new bridge at Watkins Glen State Park, New York, created by architectural firms Snøhetta and schlaich bergermann partner (sbp). Measuring 46 feet in length, the bridge will feature a portion that hovers over the gorge, providing exceptional views of the surrounding waterfall and cliffs. It is intended to replace an older structure and will act as the main entrance to the Gorge Trail, frequented by over a million visitors each year. Expected to be finished in 2026, the bridge is designed for durability with premium materials, featuring elements that highlight local wildlife and history.
