Snòdo: Billboards Become Art in Saviano, Campania
Sabato Angiero Arte has launched the first Snòdo, a public art exhibition that repurposes 14 advertising billboards at the Saviano highway junction into art showcases. Curated by Valentina Apicerni, this initiative features various artists such as Cesare Accetta, Aniello Barone, and Giuseppe Caccavale, among others. The aim is to reclaim urban spaces from commercial clutter and create 'aesthetic pauses' that shift how we view our surroundings, promoting a more mindful engagement with city resources. Apicerni describes Snòdo as an opportunity to 'untangle from familiar narratives' and shed light on transitional areas. This exhibition takes advantage of advertising spaces to present a vibrant mix of content and languages.
