Snider House Restoration by Giannone Petricone Associates

Giannone Petricone Associates Inc. Architects completed the restoration of Snider House, a heritage property in North York, Toronto, originally built in 1828. The house, the oldest surviving structure in the area, was initially a Regency-style brick farmhouse surrounded by pastures and orchards. Over 180 years, the surrounding land was redeveloped, and the house underwent expansions and modifications, losing its porch and having its interior subdivided for multiple tenants. The project, completed in 2025, covers 5,812 square feet and was led by directors Ralph Giannone, Pina Petricone, and Leo Lin, with senior associate Andria Vacca and senior associate/technical director Carlo Odorico. The project team included Serafina Korovina, Elisa Nicoletto, Nicole Tomasi, Peter Bohdal, and Mahsa Tamadonfar. Heritage consultants were ERA Architects, structural engineering by Cucco Engineering + Design, mechanical engineering by ZAAB Consulting, and general contractor THL Construction Management. The restoration aimed to address the historical modifications and return the property to its original character while adapting it for contemporary use.
