Snark Park: New Immersive Museum Opening at Hudson Yards in March 2019
Snark Park, a permanent exhibition space designed by New York design studio Snarkitecture, will open to the public on March 15, 2019, at Hudson Yards in New York. The space will feature immersive installations and playful environments made with unconventional, monochrome materials, a signature of Snarkitecture. The studio, founded by Daniel Arsham, Alex Mustonen, and Ben Porto, is known for reimagining everyday objects and scenes to challenge visitors' perspectives. Snark Park will also offer limited-edition gadgets designed by Snarkitecture and collaborating international brands, as well as food and beverages. This is not Snarkitecture's first immersive space; they previously created THE BEACH (2015) and FUN HOUSE (2018) at the National Building Museum, and have collaborated with Calvin Klein, COS, KITH, Design Miami, and the New Museum. The studio aims to explore the boundaries between art and architecture, encouraging visitors to reconsider their environment with childlike wonder. The specific exhibition concept for Snark Park has not yet been revealed.
