Sleep-Themed Exhibition at CAPC Bordeaux Features 34 Artists

Between February 3 and May 21, 2006, the CAPC Musée d'art contemporain in Bordeaux presented the exhibition 'Dormir, rêver… et autres nuits,' curated by Maurice Fréchuret and François Poisay. This showcase included works from 34 artists, totaling approximately 170 pieces, with new contributions from Bruno Rousseaud, Claude Levêque, and Andréas Horlitz. Significant photographic works were displayed by Francesca Woodman, Duane Michals, and Nan Goldin, featuring 14 photographs created between 1981 and 2004. Installations such as Jaume Plensa's 'Sleeping Room' and Sébastien Rinckel's 'Alcôve' were also part of the exhibition, which explored sleep as a delicate interlude amidst violence, steering clear of nightmare themes while depicting dreams and sleep disorders. This event was part of a series of reflective exhibitions in Paris.
