SLAM and RTA Architects Merge to Expand National Reach

S/L/A/M Collaborative (SLAM), an architecture firm founded in 1976 and headquartered in Glastonbury, Connecticut, with offices in Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and other cities, has announced a strategic merger with RTA Architects, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The merger will see RTA's nine owners continue to lead local operations while contributing to the firm's national strategy. Doug Abernathy, principal at RTA, stated that the partnership enhances their ability to take on more complex projects while staying connected to local communities. SLAM's chairman Greg Coles emphasized that both firms have built reputations on purposeful growth and design excellence, and together they can amplify impact for clients across the country. The merger aims to create a stronger platform for supporting healthcare, educational, and science and technology organizations. RTA will benefit from SLAM's nationwide footprint, while SLAM will leverage RTA's expertise in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
