SL House by Padovani Arquitetos integrates landscape and architecture in upstate São Paulo

Brazilian firm Padovani Arquitetos has completed SL House, a residence in upstate São Paulo that prioritizes landscape integration. The low-slung structure, designed by Lucas Padovani, uses layered volumes arranged on a T-shaped axis to direct attention outward. Voids in the plan are filled with intentional landscaping, softening transitions between built forms. The firm employed stone and timber materials that flow from interior to exterior, unifying the composition. The ground floor contains two suites, a home office, kitchen, laundry, staff suite, and main living spaces, while a double-height living and dining area acts as the core. Upstairs are three suites including the primary bedroom. Outdoor amenities include a swimming pool, reflecting pool, and spa. Padovani described the challenge of transforming superimposition into a unified whole, aiming for a house perceived as a single architectural body. The project was featured in Wallpaper magazine.
