Skygolpe's BLACKOUT billboards question tech and identity in Milan

Skygolpe, the digital artist known as Mattia Sommovigo, has introduced BLACKOUT, a public art initiative featuring six billboards in Milan that utilize AI to explore themes of technology, identity, and collective imagination. The billboards showcase phrases such as “INGOIA IL PROGRESSO” and “IL FUTURO È GENERATO.” This installation will be on display for 14 days, concluding on June 1, 2025, at various sites including Via G. B. Grassi and Piazzale Istria 2. Skygolpe refers to this project as a collaboration with autonomous AI, employing thought-provoking messages to instigate reflection. The work draws inspiration from Martin Heidegger's "The Question Concerning Technology" and Emanuele Severino's "Technique and Destiny," linking it to artists like Jenny Holzer. As a trailblazer in NFT art, Skygolpe has showcased his work internationally. BLACKOUT marks the initial phase of a broader intervention intended for additional cities.
