Sky Series 'Anna' by Niccolò Ammaniti Premieres April 23
The six-episode Sky series 'Anna', directed by Niccolò Ammaniti and based on his novel published by Einaudi, will premiere on April 23. The dystopian story follows a young girl, played by debut actress Giulia Dragotto (age 14, chosen from over 2,000 candidates), as she searches for her kidnapped younger brother Astor (Alessandro Pecorella, age 9, also a debut). The setting is an unusual Sicily with burned fields, mysterious woods, abandoned shopping malls, and deserted cities reclaimed by nature, where survivors form wild communities. Anna uses a notebook left by her mother (Elena Lietti) titled 'The Book of Important Things' as a guide. The cast also includes debutants Clara Tramontano and Giovanni Mavilla as Angelica and Pietro, and Roberta Mattei.
