Sky High Farm exhibition TREES NEVER END AND HOUSES NEVER END explores ecological tension through 50+ artists
Running until October 31, TREES NEVER END AND HOUSES NEVER END showcases the work of more than 50 global artists in a repurposed cold storage facility located in Germantown, New York. Curated by Dan Colen, this exhibition aims to benefit Sky High Farm (SHF), a nonprofit organization he established, coinciding with SHF's growth to a 225-hectare site in Ancram, New York. Noteworthy pieces include silver chains by Stephen Lichty, a soda bottle branch by Pia Camil, and a kinetic sculpture by Michael Sailstorfer. Anne Imhof presents an installation with industrial water tanks featuring large photographs. The exhibit contemplates the conflict between human progress and disappearing nature, reflecting on themes of beauty and despair amid ecological uncertainty. The title draws inspiration from a saying by the late SHF cofounder Joey Piecuch.
