Sky Atlantic's 'Romulus' Reimagines Rome's Foundation Myth

The series 'Romulus' on Sky Atlantic, set to debut on November 6, 2020, offers a fresh perspective on Rome's founding myth through the experiences of three young characters—Yemos, Ilia, and Wiros—amidst the brutal backdrop of 8th century BC Latium. Developed by Matteo Rovere and co-directed by Michele Alhaique and Enrico Maria Artale, it chronicles the journey of twins Enitos and Yemos, the grandsons of King Numitor of Alba, as they navigate exile, conflicts for power, and mystical elements. The ensemble cast features Andrea Arcangeli, Francesco Di Napoli, Marianna Fontana, and others. Serving as a prequel to Rovere's film 'Il primo re,' the series utilizes reconstructed Proto-Latin dialogue and showcases costumes designed by Valentina Taviani, based on research at the Museo Etrusco di Valle Giulia. The opening theme is a rendition of 'Shout' by Tears for Fears, sung by Elisa.
