Sky Arte series 'IO e LEI' profiles five great women artists

On Friday, June 2, Sky Arte dedicates its entire evening to the series IO e LEI, in which five actresses portray five iconic women artists. The first episode at 9:15 PM focuses on Roman singer Gabriella Ferri (died 2004), played by Carolina Crescentini, who traces her life through poems and notes collected by journalist Pino Strabioli and a meeting with Renzo Arbore. At 9:55 PM, Camilla Filippi explores the life of actress Giulietta Masina, visiting her hometown in the province of Bologna and listening to testimonies from friends, acquaintances, and nieces Simonetta and Francesca. At 10:30 PM, Cristiana Dell'Anna follows the footsteps of photographer Tina Modotti, traveling from Bonefro (Molise), home of the Archivio Modotti, to Monza, where photographer Maurizio Galimberti discusses his passion for her work. At 11:10 PM, Valeria Bilello examines fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli's career, starting from her native Rome, with insights from fashion historian Bonizza Giordani and art historian Marco Di Capua. The final episode at 11:45 PM sees Sonia Bergamasco trace the life of legendary dancer Isadora Duncan, including a performance by artist Claudia Caldarano.
