Sky Arte's Love Stories: Hollywood's Greatest Romances

On Friday, April 17, Sky Arte will air two episodes of the series Love Stories, focusing on legendary Hollywood romances. The first episode covers Ali MacGraw and Steve McQueen, whose passionate love began on the set of the film Getaway! and ended in 1978 due to misunderstandings and infidelity. The second episode tells the turbulent story of Ingrid Bergman and Roberto Rossellini. Bergman, a married Swedish actress living in Hollywood, wrote to Rossellini after being captivated by his neorealist masterpieces Rome, Open City and Paisà. Rossellini received her letter on May 7, 1948, which changed his life, Bergman's, and that of Anna Magnani, then Rossellini's partner. After a meeting in Paris, they married in 1950 and had three children: Robertino Jr. and twins Isotta and Isabella. Their relationship ended in separation in 1957.
