Sky Arte premieres documentary 'L’aeroplano di Marinetti' on Futurist founder

Sky Arte will air the documentary 'L’aeroplano di Marinetti' on Thursday, December 18, exploring the life of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, founder of Futurism. Directed by Eleonora Zamparutti and Piero Muscarà, the film interweaves parallel narratives on avant-garde art, politics, and society in early 20th-century Italy. It features artworks, archival documents, period films and photographs, and historical aviation materials. The documentary questions whether Marinetti was a genius or a buffoon, a revolutionary or a man of the Fascist regime, nearly 80 years after his death. It examines his artistic experiments and the explosive emergence of Italian aviation. The production was made in collaboration with numerous museums, archives, and institutions in Italy and abroad.
