Sky Arte HD dedicates a night to black music history

Sky Arte HD will broadcast a special evening dedicated to black music on Wednesday, August 3, tracing its evolution from African traditions through blues and funk. The night opens with the two-part documentary 'Black Music – La storia di una rivoluzione' by Marc-Aurèle Vecchione, covering 150 years of black music against the backdrop of the New World and the African-American struggle for freedom. The documentary highlights artists like Louis Armstrong, Chuck Berry, and Public Enemy, showing how black music has been a catalyst for emancipation and social change. Following that, 'Miles Davis Electric' features a full-length performance from the 1970 Isle of Wight festival, with commentary from Joni Mitchell, Carlos Santana, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Keith Jarrett.
