festival-fair · 2026-04-27

After its successful debut in Naples in 2017, Sky Arte Festival returns for its second edition, taking place October 12–13 in Palermo, Italy's 2018 Capital of Culture and host city for Manifesta 12, the itinerant contemporary art biennial running until November 4. The festival, promoted by Sky Arte, features a program of art and culture events including talks, screenings, and concerts with guests such as Brunori Sas, Manuel Agnelli, Stefano Mancuso, Deproducers, Ambra Angiolini, Oliviero Toscani, Isabella Ragonese, Carlo Lucarelli, and Tea Falco. Sky will also host sports events and environmental social initiatives. The heart of the festival is the Kalsa district, Palermo's historic Arab quarter by the sea, known for its mix of popular and noble architecture and recent cultural regeneration. Key venues include the 16th-century church of Santa Maria dello Spasimo, where on Friday October 12 Brunori Sas will perform a tribute to Lucio Dalla's album "Com'è profondo il mare"; the nearby Teatro Garibaldi for screenings and talks on Saturday October 13; and the Orto Botanico for a meeting on plant intelligence with Stefano Mancuso and Deproducers, presenting their project Botanica co-created with Aboca. All events are free and open to the public. Full program and accreditation details are available at www.festivalskyarte.com, with official hashtag #SkyArteFestival.
