Sky Arte Festival debuts in Naples with free events

Sky Arte, the satellite TV channel launched in November 2012, is organizing its first festival in Naples from May 5 to 7, 2017, in collaboration with the City of Naples. The event, titled "La rigenerazione," will feature theater, music, classical and contemporary art, photography, and street art. The headquarters will be at Villa Pignatelli on Riviera di Chiaia, a neoclassical landmark. Other venues include the Madre museum (hosting the opening event), Gallerie d'Italia – Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano (owned by Intesa Sanpaolo), and the Rione Sanità district. In partnership with the Fondazione di Comunità San Gennaro, the Basilica of San Gennaro Extra Moenia and the Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità will host theatrical performances and a concert by a major Italian musician. Sky Academy will also offer activities for children and youth. All events are free and open to the public with reservation. This festival follows a trend of media brands organizing live events, such as Internazionale's festival in Ferrara (September 29–October 1), Repubblica delle Idee in Bologna (June 15–18), and Frieze's art fairs.
