Sky Arte documentary revives Monet's lost Water Lilies with tech
A new episode of the Sky Arte series 'Exhibition' airs on December 25, focusing on Claude Monet's masterpieces from the Musée Marmottan Monet, on display at the Complesso del Vittoriano in Rome. The exhibition features seventy canvases, many unseen during Monet's lifetime and discovered posthumously in his Giverny studio. The documentary explores Monet's artistic journey, the birth of Impressionism, and his influence on later generations. A second documentary, part of 'Il mistero dei capolavori perduti' produced by Sky Arts Production Hub, details the digital resurrection of Monet's 'Water Lilies' (1914-26), damaged in a 1958 MoMA fire. Using advanced technology by Factum Arte, the work has been re-materialized and is now exhibited in Rome for the first time in its new form.
