Sky Arte documentary reveals Vittorio Gassman's dual nature

The documentary 'Sono Gassman! Vittorio re della commedia', directed by Fabrizio Corallo and winner of Best Documentary – Entertainment at the Nastri d'Argento 2019, airs on Sky Arte on Sunday, August 11. It explores the two souls of Vittorio Gassman: a talented actor and an introverted, hypersensitive personality. Through memories from his wife Diletta D'Andrea, his children Alessandro, Paola, Vittoria, Jacopo, and Emanuele Salce (considered a son), the film reveals both his stage and screen 'mattatore' persona and his shy, mild temperament. Colleagues including Mario Monicelli, Dino Risi, Ettore Scola, Stefania Sandrelli, and Gigi Proietti contribute, alongside interviews with Gassman himself and clips from his famous films.
