Sky Arte Documentary on Beato Angelico Exhibition in Florence

A major retrospective on Beato Angelico, hosted by Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi and Museo di San Marco in Florence until January 25, 2026, is the subject of a new documentary premiering on Sky Arte. The film, titled "Beato Angelico. Pittore di luce," airs Thursday 13 (streaming exclusively on NOW and available on-demand). Curators Carl Brandon Strehlke (Philadelphia Museum of Art emeritus), Angelo Tartuferi (former director of Museo di San Marco), and Stefano Casciu (regional director of National Museums of Tuscany) present the exhibition. They are joined by Arturo Galansino (director of Palazzo Strozzi) and Marco Mozzo (director of Museo di San Marco). The documentary, an original Sky production, explores the life and works of the friar artist, blending art, history, and spirituality. It highlights his artistic genius and humanity in interpreting the divine, placing the human at the center of the narrative.
