Sky Arte Documentary Explores Sandro Pertini's Life

A documentary titled 'Pertini ‒ Il combattente' will air on Sky Arte HD on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Directed by Graziano Diana and based on Giancarlo De Cataldo's book 'Il Combattente – come si diventa Pertini', the film chronicles the life of Sandro Pertini, a key figure in 20th-century Italian politics. Pertini served as President of the Italian Republic from 1978 to 1985 and died in 1990. He was a silver medal for military valor in 1917 and a staunch anti-fascist, later intensifying his political activity in the Socialist Party after WWII. The documentary features testimonies from notable figures including Giorgio Napolitano, Emma Bonino, Gad Lerner, Eugenio Scalfari, as well as entertainment and sports personalities like Antonello Venditti, Raphael Gualazzi, Ricky Tognazzi, and Dino Zoff. The film is produced by Anele in collaboration with Altre Storie, Sky Cinema, and Rai Cinema.
