Sky Arte documentary explores Italian fashion revolution

Sky Arte premieres 'Moda – Una rivoluzione italiana', a documentary on Italian fashion and its relationship with social and gender roles, airing February 24, 2024. The four-part series, broadcast in simulcast with Sky Doc, features contributions from creative director Nick Cerioni, critic Angelo Flaccavento, fashion historians Sofia Gnoli and Bonizza Giordani Aragno, fashion theorist Maria Luisa Frisa, avant-garde scholar Guido Andrea Pautasso, former model and anthropology lecturer Benedetta Barzini, fashion history lecturer Matteo Augello, fashion sociologist Patrizia Calefato, designer Roberto Capucci, tailors Giulio and Andrea Caraceni, and photographer Oliviero Toscani. The first two episodes cover from the early 20th century to World War II, tracing female bodily liberation and feminist movements, and from the post-war period to 1968, focusing on the changing aesthetic ideal with the rise of the curvy woman and the miniskirt.
