cultural-heritage · 2026-04-27

A new documentary titled 'Tutankhamon. L'ultima mostra' premieres on Sky Arte on November 4, 2022, marking the centenary of Howard Carter's discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb on November 26, 1922. The film follows 150 objects from the pharaoh's treasure as they travel for the largest international exhibition ever dedicated to the Golden Boy. Narrated by Manuel Agnelli, the documentary offers exclusive access to key locations including the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, and follows experts during restoration and transport of artifacts, as well as the tour stops in Los Angeles, Paris, and London. Using one of the world's richest private photographic archives of Tutankhamun's treasure and original materials from the Metropolitan Museum of New York and the Griffith Institute of Oxford, the film explores the legend of the young pharaoh who died at 19, was buried in a makeshift tomb, and became eternally famous 3,342 years after his death in 1324 BC.
