Sky Arte docu-film explores Tintoretto's rebellious life in Venice
So, on December 7, 2023, Sky Arte is going to launch a documentary called 'Tintoretto. Un Ribelle a Venezia,' and it will be narrated by Stefano Accorsi. This film is special because it marks 500 years since the birth of the artist Jacopo Robusti, or Tintoretto as we know him. It dives into his passionate and rebellious nature, along with his deep connections to Venice during the Renaissance, a place he stayed in even during the plague. Melania G. Mazzucco created and wrote it, with input from director Peter Greenaway and art historians like Kate Bryan and others. They filmed it at famous Venetian locations, showcasing two restored works from 1582-1583 that were previously displayed at the National Gallery of Art in 2019.
