Sky Arte Celebrates Italy's Republic Day with Special Programming

On June 2, 2024, Sky Arte marked the 78th anniversary of Italy's Republic Day with a thematic programming lineup. The evening began with the documentary "Dentro il Quirinale: Il palazzo degli italiani," offering an inside look at the Quirinale Palace, the official residence of the Italian President. Testimonies from custodians, workers, and staff enriched the narrative, with a focus on the palace's museum and artworks. Next, "Colosseo – Il gioiello di Roma" highlighted the Flavian Amphitheatre, which attracts about seven million visitors annually and exemplifies Roman engineering. Phil Grabsky's award-winning film "Raffaello alle scuderie del Quirinale" reconstructed the 2020 exhibition "Raffaello 1520-1483" at the Scuderie del Quirinale, marking 500 years since Raphael's death. The evening concluded with "San Pietro e le basiliche papali di Roma," touring the four papal basilicas (St. Peter's, St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major, and St. Paul Outside the Walls), and "La Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana – Scrigno di arte e di sapere," offering a privileged view of one of the world's most precious libraries.
