Sky Arte celebrates 50th anniversary of Moon landing with special programming

On July 20, 2019, at 19:10, Sky Arte celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing with a special programming block. The schedule featured The Sixties, which focused on the space race, and L'uomo della domenica: 1969 Rivera sulla Luna, where Giorgio Porrà discussed events from that pivotal year. A highlight was the debut of Moon – Viaggi lunari, a collaboration between 3D Produzioni, Sky Arte, and ASI, scripted by Emanuela Audisio and directed by Malina De Carlo, showcasing evolving perceptions of the Moon with Paolo Giordano as the guide. Filming took place at the Politecnico di Milano and the ESA center in Cologne. Federico Buffa presented 1969-2019: Moon Legacy, while Soundtracks – Canzoni che hanno fatto la storia featured space-inspired music. The documentary Astrosamantha, narrated by Giancarlo Giannini, explored Samantha Cristoforetti's space record.
