Sky Arte airs documentary on Kirk Douglas

Sky Arte will broadcast the documentary "Kirk Douglas – L'indomabile" on Sunday, February 5, honoring the Hollywood legend three years after his death. Born Issur Danielovitch Demsky, Douglas died at age 103 after a life of success and determination. He rose from a humble delivery boy in New York suburbs to cinema stardom, working with directors and actors such as Stanley Kubrick, Elia Kazan, Burt Lancaster, and Barbara Stanwyck. The film spans genres from noir to western, highlighting his roles in "Paths of Glory," "Spartacus," and "Lust for Life," where he portrayed Vincent van Gogh. Douglas received an Honorary Oscar in 1996.
