Skulptur Projekte Münster 2017 Showcases 35 Public Artworks with Dystopian and Utopian Currents

From 10 June to 1 October 2017, the fifth iteration of Skulptur Projekte Münster, established by Kasper König in 1977, showcased 35 projects. The exhibition emphasized a contrast between utopian and dystopian concepts. Jeremy Deller's work, 'Speak to the Earth and It Will Tell You (2007–17),' featured diaries from allotment gardeners. Emeka Ogboh displayed 'Passage through Moondog (2017)' and 'Quiet Storm (2017).' Alexandra Pirici's 'Leaking Territories (2017)' incorporated historical performances, while Michael Smith's 'Not Quite Under_Ground (2017)' functioned as a tattoo studio. The postapocalyptic theme was evident in pieces like Aram Bartholl's '5v (2017)' and Hito Steyerl's 'HellYeahWeFuckDie (2017).'
