Artribune presents six photography books for the 2016 Christmas season. Italo Zannier's 'Verso l'invisibile' (Quinlan, 168 pp., €21) explores the birth of photography in the late 19th century, focusing on technological acceleration. Diego Mormorio's 'Catturare il tempo' (Postcart, 192 pp., €13.90) reaches its third edition, blending photography, literature, and philosophy. Georges Didi-Huberman's 'Soulèvements' (Gallimard-Jeu de Paume, 420 pp., €49) accompanies the exhibition of the same name at Jeu de Paume in Paris, examining uprisings and revolutions through photographs and documents, with essays by Antonio Negri, Nicole Brenez, Judith Butler, Jacques Rancière, and Maria-José Mondzain. Pasquale Bove's 'Italy & Italy' (Cesura Publish, 623 pp., €50) compiles 336 images from over 200,000 shots by the Resto del Carlino reporter, depicting 1990s Italy. Dominique Laugé and Laurent Gayard's 'Taklamakan' (Johan & Levi, 216 pp., €35) documents the Taklamakan Desert along the Silk Road, with text by historian Laurent Gayard. Ciro Frank Schiappa and Michele Primi's 'New York Serenade' (Skira, 124 pp., €32) offers 48 photographs of New York City sites linked to rock history, including locations associated with the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Iggy Pop, and Patty Smith.
