Six New Art Books: From Mohamed Keita's Mali to Rosalind Krauss on Sculpture
Artribune highlights six recent art book releases. Giulio Cederna's 'KENE – Mohamed Keita' (Pecci Books) documents the photographic project of young political refugee Mohamed Keita in Mali, where he ran a workshop with ten youths. 'Capitan Papaia e Greta' (24 ORE Cultura), illustrated by Maddalena Gerli and curated by Beatrice Borromeo, explains Greta Thunberg's environmental activism to children through her Atlantic crossing with Pierre Casiraghi. 'Federico Patellani. Stromboli 1949' (Humboldt Books) features Patellani's photographs of Ingrid Bergman and Roberto Rossellini during the filming of 'Stromboli terra di Dio'. 'Cesura Fanzine #3' celebrates new members of the Cesura collective, based in Pianello Val Tidone. Grazia Pulvirenti's 'Non dipingerai i miei occhi' (Editoriale Jouvence) is the first Italian text to focus on Jeanne Hébuterne as an artist independent of Amedeo Modigliani. Finally, Rosalind Krauss's 'Passaggi. Storia della scultura da Rodin alla Land art' has been reprinted by postmedia books, analyzing 20th-century sculpture from Rodin to conceptual art.
