Six Female Artists Reimagine Medieval Banners at Castello Orsini
There's a cool exhibition called "Medioevo al femminile," showing from July 15 to October 15 at Castello Orsini in Soriano nel Cimino. Six talented female artists—Sveva Angeletti, Ambra Castagnetti, Lucia Cristiani, Binta Diaw, Federica di Pietrantonio, and Valentina Furian—have taken medieval themes and given them a fresh twist. Their artwork is displayed on the castle's ramparts, which were built between 1277 and 1278 during the time of Pope Nicholas III Orsini. Curated by Spazio Taverna and the Municipality of Soriano, the exhibition turns traditional military and religious symbols into expressions of women's creativity. Ludovico Pratesi, one of the curators, mentioned that they’re planning another exhibit for young artists in 2025 in the castle's old prison cells.
